About the Organisation

The West Daly Regional Council commenced operation on July 1st, 2014, in response to an identified need to present a stronger voice and greater control over the delivery of services in the West Daly area. The new council entity covers the Wadeye-Peppimenarti-Palumpa areas and exists to serve and strengthen the community through the laws, policies and programs of Councils and the Northern Territory Government.

About the Opportunity

West Daly Regional Council has an exciting leadership opportunity for a full-time Manager Grants to join their team in their Darwin head office.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role will see you playing an integral role in supporting the Management Team in the implementation of West Daly Regional Council’s Regional Plan and Budget, operational plans and agency contracted services funding agreements. You will provide a complete range of grants management and agency contracted services coordination including applications, agreements, monitoring, reporting and acquittals.

Your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Developing a grants management and agency contracted services planning, management and reporting framework;
  • Developing and maintaining effective networks and relationships with government agency stakeholders to maximise knowledge of grants programs and agency contracted services;
  • Preparing grants and funding submissions, including research and analysis to support applications;
  • Arranging appropriate execution of Council grants agreements and other funding documentation;
  • Preparing reports including financial and performance progress reporting as per grant and agency contracted service funding agreements;
  • Liaising with Council management, staff and CouncilBiz in the planning, implementation and reporting of grant and agency contracted service funding agreements.

To be considered for this role you will hold tertiary qualifications in management, accounting or a related field, as well as demonstrated experience in the management of contemporary government grants programs and coordination of agency contracted services. Knowledge of the operations of local government and/or community services will also be essential.

The successful candidate will have high level interpersonal skills, with the ability to successfully engage in stakeholder relationships. In addition, you will have excellent written communication skills to aid in the submission of grant proposals. It is also crucial you be well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities to deadlines.

A current Australian driver's licence is required for this role.
